The Clean Slate Act hopes to give those convicted of crimes a chance to get a job or housing after they have paid their debt.
The Act, which could become law, intends for criminal records to be sealed if the individual chooses in order to help prevent any hindering of a second chance.
The bill is currently up for review by New York State lawmakers.
