New York public defenders are on back order. There is a dearth of legal eagles in NYC courts system as an exodus is underway.
Claiming they are undervalued and overworked hundreds of lawyers have left New York City’s public defender organizations in the last year.
In the last year alone, the Legal Aid Society has lost 200 people – or 10% of their staff.
