As city budget meetings wind down immigrant advocate groups along with city council members have rallied to demand $25 million added to the budget to fund non-citizen voting.
The groups also called for more funding to expand other city services to its immigrant population including: $6.1 million to expand education programs for immigrant youth, maintaining $4 million in funding for Access Health NYC, and renewing $58.2 million for immigrant legal services.
