You don’t have to hug trees, cover yourself in soil, or go bird watching but it’s still nice to get out and enjoy nature, especially surrounding Earth Day in Brooklyn.
Launched in 1970 as a creation of Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson, Earth Day may have been hijacked somewhat and politicized but in Brooklyn there are several ways to enjoy the weekend with activities. One not listed and a personal favorite is a nice, leisurely stroll through the locally curated Bay Ridge Botanical Gardens just off the 65th Street Pier on Shore Road.
